PlaceWise expands Shoptopia launch to include Madison Marquette

April 20, 2011

Madison Marquette is the next shopping center developer and operator to join Forest City Enterprises in the launch of the Shoptopia Network, PlaceWise Media has announced. The Shoptopia Network is the first media platform to integrate the physical and digital shopping experiences in the context of shopping centers.

“Madison Marquette’s social media commitment has created new relationships between our centers and their shoppers,” said Kurt Ivey, senior vice president of Madison Marquette, which is based in Washington, D.C. “Shoptopia will allow us to deepen and further monetize those relationships by integrating our new media platforms and by opening them up to advertisers.”

Shoptopia provides consumers with contextually relevant content across online, social, mobile and digital screen-based media. Based on a consumer’s profile, Shoptopia will deliver targeted, real-time information about savings, contests, events and loyalty reward programs through their preferred communications medium.

The content is syndicated and broadcast through email, mobile devices, social media, tablets and video wall displays, providing consumers with personalized interactions that are extensions of the shopping experience.

At launch, Shoptopia is at 39 retail centers and will reach 23.4 million monthly shoppers. By the end of 2011, PlaceWise projects that the Shoptopia Network will include 150 retail centers and reach over 100 million monthly shoppers.

PlaceWise Media is a provider of place-based content and integrated marketing channels.
