Report: Retailers will need to pivot to hurdle upcoming challenges

While holiday sales are expected to be robust, the future holds some challenges for retailers, reveals a new Forrester report, and those challenges could be tough for retailers not willing to make change.

Pivoting to meet consumer expectations, demands and needs will have to happen even if it hurts, notes an IT Wire report on the Forrester research. That's because consumer will be taking a cautious approach to shopping next year and retailers will need to provide a personalized experience.

"Make no mistake — in 2017, retailers must go on the offensive to defend and grow their position from voracious competitors," noted the Forrester report.

"Stick to your knitting — deliver value and great service, and test assiduously," states the research report.
