Amazon isn't the leader of everything in retail apparently as Wal-Mart is the top apparel retailer and part of its success is likely tied to its acquisition strategy, states a Market Watch report.
Yet given Amazon has more than a dozen private-label apparel brands, and a $14 billion apparel business, the e-commerce giant remains a big competitor.
"We believe Amazon is taking advantage of the dislocation in apparel retailing and aggressively rolling out a more-expansive private label offering," KeyBanc analysts wrote in a recent note, according to Market Watch.
