Samsung recently announced a new retail initiative at select Best Buy stores, aimed at working with the electronics retailer's goal of providing customers access to new technology, particularly the new UHD TVs.
The new Samsung Entertainment Experience areas at Best Buy will highlight the picture quality of Samsung's latest line of TVs and feature a selection of curved UHD TVs. These dedicated areas in approximately 500 U.S. Best Buy locations were designed specifically for consumers to explore the details and colors found on Samsung UHD TVs. The new Samsung TV line will be showcased alongside the company’s home audio products, including the Samsung Shape Wireless Audio Multiroom System. The Samsung Entertainment Experience will be staffed by Samsung-trained Best Buy retail associates who can answer questions and help guide consumers to the home entertainment solution that best suits their needs.
Samsung Electronics America President Tim Baxter said in the announcement that "consumer awareness and purchase intent for UHD technology is increasing steadily, and the Samsung Entertainment Experience at Best Buy provides consumers with the opportunity to learn more and get an in-depth look at how this breathtaking new technology can change their viewing experience at home. We understand the importance of the product experience in stores and will continue to work with our retail partners to showcase next-generation technologies through effective merchandising solutions."
Samsung introduced five new series of UHD TVs (with four times the resolution of full-HD TVs) this spring, increasing the number of UHD TV models by more than six-fold from last year and offering a wide selection of both flat and curved designs to fit consumer preferences.
"The Samsung Entertainment Experience will give consumers access to the largest Samsung Curved UHD TV assortment," Best Buy Chief Merchandising Officer Mike Mohan said in the announcement. "We are pleased that Samsung is expanding their presence in our stores and online, similar to what they did with mobile and computing products showcased in the Samsung Experience Shops."
