Scanbuy, a mobile engagement solutions provider, announced that it has partnered with mobile loyalty platform SessionM to reward users of the ScanLife app for scanning QR Codes and UPC codes on products and media in the physical world.
According to the companies, ScanLife mobile app users can earn mPoints (or "mobile points") by completing in-app activities that ScanLife wants to reward, such as interacting with barcodes and QR codes in stores and restaurants, products, print advertising and more. Users can then redeem their points for rewards such as gift cards from iTunes, Amazon and Starbucks.
"Loyalty is a natural extension of how consumers are using the ScanLife app to engage with the brands they love in their everyday life," said Mike Wehrs, president and CEO of Scanbuy. "With 25 percent of ScanLife iOS users already engaging, there have already been millions of mPoints collected since its initial introduction."
ScanLife joins other mobile apps in SessionM's network including The Weather Channel, Moviefone and MTV News. ScanLife is also able to take advantage of SessionM’s location check-in feature, mPlaces, which enables the app to reward users for checking in to specific store locations where they can scan products using the app.
