As the holiday sales season nears, Sears is making a move to draw bargain-hunting customers with a new guarantee initiative.
The struggling retailer, which has shuttered over 70 stores nationwide, is launching the Sears Holiday Guarantee, which gives its rewards program members extra points if the price of a purchased item drops following the purchase, according to a Mobile Commerce Daily report.
"Our goal for the holiday season—and year-round—is to make it easy for members to shop wherever and whenever is most convenient for them by offering a wide range of integrated retail services," Joelle Maher, president and chief member officer, told Mobile Commerce Daily. "Sears was a pioneer of buy online pickup in-store more than 15 years ago, and since that time we've seamlessly built a connection between in-store, online and mobile shopping experiences for Shop Your Way members and customers, including in-vehicle pickup, return and exchange in five (at all Sears stores), free in-store shipping, meet with an expert, anyone, anywhere pickup and more."
