A new small-business report reveals confidence remains on a positive path and that global issues aren’t having the negative impact some in the financial sector were expecting.
Small business confidence jumped upward a half point in August, according to the latest Small Business Optimism Index issued by the National Federal of Independent Business, hitting 95.9.
But the September report may indicate the modest increase was a bit of a fluke given the timing of the report, according to a Reuters report. The survey data was collected and analyzed before the recent economic volatility due to China’s slowing economic growth, stated Reuters.
The index reported that while small business retailers seem to be mostly optimistic given sales trends, many do not see it as a lucrative time for business expansion.
