As if showrooming hasn't gotten easy enough, a new app is available to help consumers get not only their friends' recommendations as they shop, but theWajam Social Shopping app also provides a comparison of the best pricing and places to shop for searchable items. In addition to receiving product pricing, Wajam Shopping offers users alternative shopping destinations from more than 3,500 online merchants through its partnership with Shopping.com, David Bruce, head of Business Development for Shopping.com, said in a company press release.
"Friends are often the most trusted source of information," he said. "By adding our content with Wajam's mashup of what your friends on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ have to say about the products you are most interested in, you conveniently get everything you need to make the most informed purchasing decision in all of the favorite places you like to search."
How it works
When users make an online query for a product, alternative shopping destinations will be displayed along with price comparisons. Wajam offers two ways to search for social results: through its Social Search Everywhere Plugin as well as a search engine option at www.wajam.com. The Wajam Social Search Everywhere Plugin follows each user's searches, making search more personal by adding social network results to all Web search queries — without having to change user search behavior.
Wajam.com gives users a depository of everything your Facebook, Twitter and Google+ friends and followers are posting and the easy ability to search through this comprehensive mashup, said Martin-Luc Archambault, founder and CEO of Wajam.
