USA Today: Payments by cell phone at retail have been slow to take off in the U.S. MasterCard and Blaze Mobile have unveiled high-tech stickers that aim to change that. The stickers use radio frequency technology to communicate with POS terminals at BP, Best Buy, CVS, McDonald's and other stores. The stickers will be issued by MetaBank; they'll work on most phones.
The technology is a bridge before contactless payment technology is built into handsets, perhaps two years away.
