Store closures will hit 12K in 2018

The start of the new year will bring a "rash" of bankruptcy filings and store closing announcements, according to a Business Insider report that cited data from Cushman & Wakefield.

More than 12,000 stores will shutter their doors, about 3,000 more than in 2017. The bankruptcy list, according to BI, includes Sears, Stein Mart and Bon-Ton Stores.
