Supermarket chain debuts health screening kiosks at pharmacies

Schnuck Markets Inc. is deploying cardiovascular health screening kiosks from PharmaSmart International Inc. at all of its 95 pharmacies, according to Supermarket News. The St. Louis, Missouri-based chain operates 100 stores in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Schnuck Markets hopes that the health screening kiosks will help drive Medicare Star Ratings in the categories of medication adherence for hypertension and blood pressure control, two measures that are triple-weighted and scrutinized by national and regional health insurers to assess pharmacies' performance and standing as health care network preferred providers.
