Target is planning to revamp its store design to not only better serve those running in for a quick item but those who love to browse all its aisles.
The redesign will include a special entrance and 10-minute parking areas for the fast shopper and aisles will be revamped into a curved layout to encourage browsing, according to an AP report.
In addition, there will be new LED lighting replacing fluorescent bulbs and special boutique setups for highlighting specialty products, Mark Schindele, SVP of Target Properties, told the AP. The first store to showcase the new look will be a Houston location by next fall.
"We wanted the design to be flexible because that is what shopping is all about," Schindele told the AP.
