Target is lowering regular prices on about 5,000 frequently shopped items over the course of this summer.
Savings include milk and fresh fruit to vegetables and diapers and pet food, according to a press release.
"We know consumers are feeling pressured to make the most of their budget, and Target is here to help them save more," Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief food, essentials and beauty officer, Target, said in the release. "Our teams work hard to deliver great value every day, and these new lower prices across thousands of items will add up to additional big savings for the millions of consumers that shop Target each week for their everyday needs."
Additional price reductions will be found across dozens of national brands and popular Target-owned brands like Good & Gather and Everspring.
The news comes on the heels of Target announcing in March that it plans to deliver an "enhanced shopping experience." In addition to evolving its loyalty program, Target is planning Target-owned brand launches and "hundreds of new stores."
