Target going small again on Long Island retail front

Target is launching its third small-format at a Long Island, New York location.

The store, planned for Port Washington, will be 48,000-sqare-feet, according to a Newsday report, and will open in October.

"We look forward to serving even more guests on Long Island," Mark Schindele, senior VP of Target's properties team, said in a statement, according to Newsday.

The other small footprint Long Island stores are in Freeport and Elmont.
