Target customers anxious about COVID-19 and wanting a safer shopping experience can now make a reservation at the retailer's location.
The strategy comes as the coronavirus continues to spread across the U.S., with some regions seeing big jumps in infections. Several other retailers, including Chico's, also offer an appointment strategy, according to a Washington Post report.
Target CEO Brian Cornell, in a media call last week, said he doesn't expect the reservation option to become permanent but could be "very important" in the holiday season.
Customers can determine if there are very long lines at a store and check Target.com/line to reserve a spot.
