UGG, a footwear brand, has teamed up with Projection Artworks to deploy 3D projectors at select stores in Europe. The brand will use Projection Artwork's DisplayMapper solution to showcase new product features, according to a press release.
The projectors will display the boot with CG animations such as falling leaves or raindrops to showcase the boot's "weather-proof qualities." They will also showcase UGG's monograming service, which allows users to embroider their initials onto the boots.
The DisplayMapper solution, which uses the laser based Optoma ML750 projectors, is designed to centralize all content onto one platform. UGG can remotely update content across multiple stories and use integrated cameras to monitor the displays.
"Placing experiential media at the point of purchase allows us to create an immersive experience in our stores and a real talking point amongst shoppers," Lisa Henderson, direct to consumer marketing manager of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, UGG, said in the release. "In doing so, we're confident that dwell time will increase and hopefully in turn result in a positive impact on in-store sales."
UGG will deploy the displays in 10 stores in the UK, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
