Shoppers in the U.K. spend more when shopping online than in the store — an average of $258.24 more and fashion is the top focus.
The spending habits insight, from St. Albans-based Gallery Rouge, reveals fashion sites gaining the most attention, with one third of all impulse activity taking place on clothing sites.
The other top four focal points are tech/gadgets (22 percent), home décor/art (17 percent), holiday gifts (12 percent) and jewelry grabbing 7 percent of impulse consumers.
"Mobile shopping has compressed the time between thought, desire, and purchase," Daniel Levine, a trend expert, said in a press release about the study. "Think about it: You have the thought that you might want something. You can immediately look it up online, decide that you want it and click the buy button."
