Flying isn't as fun as it once was for most consumers, but United Airlines is hoping a little pie will go a long way to changing the trend.
The airline's domestic flight customers will soon have a new menu item to buy during flights — a personal-sized Uno's Pizzeria deep dish pie — come July 1, according to a New York Post report. The pizza will cost $9.99, and there's also a beer-pizza combo for $13.99 (Miller Lite only).
Boosting culinary options is becoming a trend as airlines strive to stand out from the competition and build a loyal customer base. Delta Airlines, noted the Post, has hired chefs to enhance its menu.
United's menu add comes months after a video of the airline security physically removing a customer. The video went viral and brought backlash for the brand.
