UPS hiring on 90K for upcoming holiday delivery season

If there is one thing the delivery service doesn't want to happen this holiday season it's the scenario of not having enough workers to handle expected customer demand.

September 15, 2015

Retailers using United Parcel Service delivery service this holiday season will be happy to read this news: UPS will hire on the same number of seasonal workers as they did last year to deal with the holiday shipping wave.

The temporary hiring force will number about 95,000 employees, according to a Bloomberg report, with a majority of the seasonal workers handling packages and manning delivery trucks.

"That’s good news that they’re expecting a solid peak again," Nathan Brochmann, a William Blair & Co. analyst, told Bloomberg.

The delivery service is likely still a bit sore from the consumer whiplash and retail customer response two years ago when it faltered big time during the holiday season due to not having enough employees to handle delivery demands.
