Vancouver mall customers now shopping via Facebook

June 14, 2012

A Vancouver shopping destination, Park Royal, has added a way for customers to browse products on its Facebook page.

"We are always looking to make use of technology to enhance the shopping experience," Nancy Small, Park Royal's director of marketing and sustainability, said in a press release. "Facebook is where people discover new things, and make and discuss plans, so it makes sense to give our shoppers the best possible experience within that environment."

The Vancouver-based technology company Wishpond's Mall360 product is running the Facebook shopping application by aggregating product information from the nearly 300 retailers and then allowing Park Royal to publish that data as a browsable, searchable, shareable directory on Facebook, a mobile application or website. It also integrates other social networking tools such as Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+ to allow shoppers to share their favorite items with friends.
