In its quest to remain competitive with the growing number of food kit makers, Walmart is debuting a slew of its own meal kits and rolling them out to more than 2,000 stores during 2018.
The meals will also be available via its online grocery pickup service that lets consumers order earlier in the day and then pick up later near supper time, according to a press release.
So far, the meals are available in more than 250 stores and are made fresh in store each day. Prices range from $8 to $15.
"Customers are busier than ever and we know getting a delicious dinner on the table can be a chore. We're here to help,” said Tyler Lehr, senior vice president and general merchandise manager, deli services, Walmart U.S., in the release. "These delicious meals give the best or worst of cooks a fresh, easy option for dinner tonight, or later this week."
