Walmart is increasing the number of store locations featuring a CarSaver car-selling kiosk, according to Adweek. In an email to the publication, a Walmart rep wrote that CarSaver locations will open in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana and Virginia in the near term. The service will also be available on Walmart.com.
CarSaver uses its car dealer network, which also includes insurance companies and banks, to provide upfront pricing. Once buyers find the car they want, they're connected with an "express manager" to test drive or pick up the car at a local dealership within a 15–20-minute drive from a Walmart supercenter, the rep wrote in the email.
CarSaver will also help customers sell their cars by offering cash from a network of dealers who place bids. In addition, the company will offer a vehicle buying program for Walmart employees.
