Walmart is teaching store managers compassion during a training program held at its headquarters.
It's all about how to interact and relate with customers and colleagues, according to a New York Times report.
About 2,000 leaders participate weekly program, called Manager Academy, that began two years ago.
"The intent of the academy is to walk away knowing what are our values, what are our expectations of leaders, how do we operate effectively with the view of putting our people first?" Donna Morris, Walmart Inc.'s chief people officer, told the news outlet.
