Walmart has closed self-checkout lanes at a store in West Hills, Los Angeles amid wider concerns about retail theft in self-checkout lanes, according to a Irish Starreport.
Walmart declined to comment on the self-checkout closure or potential causes.
"We're always looking at ways to innovate and improve our stores," a Walmart employee told the news outlet. "We have nothing to announce related to self-checkout removals at this time."
Similar developments in recent days include Walmart removing self-checkout from two New Mexico locations last fall, according to the report.
