Walmart is aiming to spruce up three Long Island, New York stores, deploying grocery pickup and delivery capabilities.
The three Long Island stores are part of 13 locations in the state getting a revamp, according to a Patch report, which stated the retailer expects to spend $64 million on the remodel strategy.
"We continue investing in our stores and in our people," said Keith Wyche, Walmart's regional general manager for New York, in a release. "Our multi-million dollar investment in New York is part of our overall mission to improve the customer experience, making shopping faster and more convenient, both in-store and online. Walmart is committed to being the retailer of choice for customers and communities."
Walmart will be adding pickup towers to the Long Island stores and deploying a FAST Unloader system that lets workers unload trucks and sort merchandise faster.
