Wayfair opening 1st physical store in May

Wayfair aims to open its first-ever brick-and-mortar location in May.

The 150,000-square-foot retail store is scheduled to open on May 23 in Wilmette, Illinois, according to a CNN report. The store will include a restaurant called The Porch.

"Wayfair's online business has been tremendously successful at generating sales. Unfortunately, it is not profitable because of the amount of marketing that has to be done to attract and retain customers," Neil Saunders, retail industry analyst and managing director at GlobalData Retail, told the news outlet.
