NEW YORK ― Tesco CEO Sir Terry Leahy gave a generous speech at NRF's BIG Show Tuesday morning. In addition to his ten management tips, he also offered six drivers of growth for the coming years:

Trust. "Trust comes from the consumer judging the organization. What has that organization done for me?"

Information. "People know a lot more about us now as businesses. There's nowhere to hide. You'd better be transparent as an organization."

Health. "It's a basic anthropological driver - everybody wants to live forever and look good."

Convenience. "There's going to be a big development of shopping on mobile phones."

Simplicity. "It's harder and harder to make satisfying decisions. People don't want more products in their lives. They want problems solved."

Climate change. "We in the developed world are going to have to live on 80 percent less carbon. We now have to shift the whole basis of consumption to non-carbon. It won't be less consumption, it will just be different."
