You want your customers to catch your message at a glance, so simplicity is your best friend. A minimal amount of elements, a call to action (CTA) and/or a price point are all you need. Poster animation is a video with a single scene using a combination of videos, images & animated elements. This is the preferred video style for digital signage as you cannot predict when an audience member will be walking past or viewing your display. As such, it is important that they will be able to understand and be engaged at any point of the video. A video that has multiple scenes may require all scenes to be viewed for the message to be digested. With Poster animation, it can be viewed at any point and be understood.
Clear and simple messages, colours, fonts, and background. The message should be digestible in 2-3 seconds.
Using 5 visual elements or less in your video, with a strong focus on hierarchy will help make it easy to understand quickly.
Don’t overload a user with animation that is too fast, jarring, or varied. Use a maximum of 3 complimentary animation styles.
People have very short attention spans, so statistically, the best length of a video for digital signage is between 5-10 seconds.
A little bit of repetition. The more time someone sees a particular video, the more likely the yare to convert. A short loop increases the chance of someone seeing a video multiple times in a single visit, a day or over a week.
