Agilysys unveils newest mobile version of POS for retail

Agilysys Inc., a provider of  IT solutions, has announced the release of its newest version of mobile point of sale (POS), a next-generation product with legacy roots that runs on many leading point of sale platforms.

NextPosition is the mobile POS module, and the latest offering, in Agilysys' NextVision suite of mobile solutions for retailers. It extends the fixed point of sale to handheld devices, creating a mobile point-of-service solution. 

NextPosition is integrated with IBM 4690 and Oracle POS and can be launched with little to no modification of the POS platform.

"In the current environment, where mobility is top of mind, facilitating mobile point of sale throughout the customer's interaction is critical for today's consumers and savvy retailers," said Paul Civils, senior vice president and general manager, Retail Services Group.
