Bayless Integrated Health Center in Phoenix is now using a self-serve pharmacy kiosk that allows patients to fill a prescription immediately after being treated at the hospital, skipping a separate trip to a pharmacy, according to ABC 15. The kiosk is stocked with more than 700 different medications.
Patients receive a prescription order on their cell phone in the form of a QR code. They then scan the code against the kiosk and enter a pin number. Patients are given the option to speak to a pharmacist about their medication via a video screen.
Prescriptions can be dispensed in as little as 90 seconds. Approximately 40 kiosks will be installed throughout the state.
