Australian concept store to sell 'fashtronics'

September 27, 2013

There's a new concept store setting up shop in Australia that claims to blend fashion and electronics into what it calls "fashtronics."

The Move store is owned and operated by the Dick Smith Electronics business, according to an article on current.com.au, but Move's target demographic is more specific than a general gadget shopper.

"Move is for the brand conscious, for those who want their technology with a twist of individuality and style," said a media launch invitation cited in the article.

The retailer seems to be embracing its esoteric name with its equally obscure mission statement:

It's technology with style. And it's style that moves with the moment. It's Sydney to Paris via London, Connected. It's where you're styled-in to trends and dialled-in to technology. It's here. It's now. And it's on the go. It's time to Move.

Move will open its first store in Sydney on Oct. 1, followed by another opening later in Victoria, Australia.
