Best Buy puts exercise equipment on its shelves

June 24, 2019

Electronics retailer, Best Buy, is now selling exercise bikes, rowing machines and treadmills.

The workout equipment, now available online, features innovative technology such as virtual class instruction and interactive coaching. The strategy is in response to consumer interest in health and equipment in fast fashion, according to a CNN report. The equipment will also be within brick-and-mortar locations in more than 100 stores by year's end.

"Consumers want the benefits of boutique exercise clubs in the convenience of their homes," said Josh Will, who directs Best Buy's health assortment, in an interview with CNN business. "They're looking for a shortcut. We call it the 'fitness hack.'"
