Shoppers at the Long Beach 2nd & PCH development, in California, will find parking a bit easier in the fall thanks to EnSight Technology's intelligent parking availability system.
The parking guidance system is aimed at helping shoppers at the outdoor mall find a spot quickly and easily. It uses a camera-based solution that counts vehicles as they enter and exit each level of all three garages, and uses that data to provide insight on signs at entrances of each parking level.
The 2nd & PCH outdoor mall sits at the gateway between Orange County and Long Beach, and features coastal contemporary architecture and outdoor living areas.
The 31 strategically located dynamic LED display signs will provide real-time information about how many spaces are available by monitoring all 1,100 in the complex, according to a press release.
"It's essential for shoppers to be able to find parking quickly and conveniently when they visit any retail complex," said Chris Scheppman, managing member of EnSight Technologies, in the release. "This parking guidance system will assure that 2nd & PCH can offer the most convenient parking of any retail complex in Southern California, and it will dramatically improve the shopping experience. It will help cement 2nd & PCH as the retail destination of choice for shoppers and diners throughout the area."
