The "digital mall" service Catalog Spree announced it has teamed with Google to distribute interactive retail catalogs and lookbooks on the Web through Lightbox Ads.
The targeted ads will be distributed on the Google Display Network, which reaches more than 100 million American consumers — an opportunity for retailers that want to target those shoppers during the 2013 holiday season, according to a news release.
Catalog Spree is the first publisher outside of Google itself to publish and serve Lightbox Ad content. The Lightbox Ad format begins as a standard ad unit and then transforms into a full-screen shopping experience for consumers on the Web. Catalog Spree's interactive retail content can also be found on its app for the iPad and iPhone.
"Catalog Spree is out to change digital publishing for the retail world. From digitizing print catalogs to creating custom, interactive lookbooks, to now partnering with Google on Lightbox Ads, Catalog Spree offers the most comprehensive mobile and Web distribution platform for retailers," said Joaquin Ruiz, CEO of Catalog Spree. "The avid shoppers on Catalog Spree's mobile app, coupled with the hundreds of millions of American shoppers that Google Lightbox Ads can reach, make up an incredible audience for any e-commerce retailer."
