Just 37.6 percent of retailers are offering click and collect capability to consumers, according to OrderDynamics' research report, Omni-2000 Research: Global.
Of the 2,000 retailers polled, just under 40 percent showed basic inventory visibility on product pages and there has been a 30.7 percent drop in active online inventory visibility compared to a year ago.
"This is a concerning drop in an industry experiencing so much change. Passive inventory visibility is a factor in this drop. Unlike active inventory visibility, a passive approach only signals when a good is out of stock," stated a release on the findings.
The U.K. is leading when it comes to click and collect functionality. Over 69 percent of consumers have tried omnichannel retailing and want more, stated the research.
