Consumers embracing AR, online shopping

When it comes to e-commerce activity 10 percent of online shoppers have tried AR technology , according to a shopping and technology trends survey conducted by Adtaxi.

The study also revealed 67 percent of online shoppers are ready to shop online only, according to a press release.

"There is no question that the ecommerce market is exploding, and that consumers are increasingly making purchases online," said Evan Tennant, national director of ecommerce at Adtaxi, in the release.

The study reported 66 percent of consumers make an online purchase at least once a month, and more than half, 52 percent, are spending more dollars online than in a brick-and-mortar store.

With regard to AR technology, the 10 percent reporting use said they used it for 'virtual' try on of clothes and furniture and 67 percent of that group said they would never again shop in a store for clothes if AR made it just as easy.

When it comes to mobile and text use while shopping, 65 percent have used a mobile app for online shopping.
