A new Sumo Heavy report reveals that while chatbots are gaining favor with consumers interaction with chatbots remains low within the retail customer experience, and a greater number of shoppers are being influenced by social media.
Yet social commerce, as a transaction, is not growing as 82 percent of consumers have not bought something using social buy buttons or another form of social commerce, according to a press release.
Over half (58 percent) of those polled in the report, called the 2018 Social Commerce Revisited, said social media is influencing purchasing, compared to 45 percent two years ago. The report states 80 percent of shoppers are familiar with social commerce, security and privacy concerns are stopping them from conducting a social commerce transaction.
