Detwiler's Farm Market plans to build its biggest store to date and it will be the first location to be built from ground up.
The location for the 52,000-square-foot store is Sumter Boulevard, in Sarasota County, at Interstate 75 in North Port, Florida, according to a Business Observer report. Plans call for it to open in Q4 of 2028.
"Our customers have been asking us for years to come to North Port," Detwiler's Farm Market Founder Henry Detwiler Sr. said in a statement to the news outlet. "This location is especially meaningful because it allows us to design and build from the ground up, creating our largest store yet and an experience that truly reflects who we are."
Detwiler launched his company 24 years ago and it now operates six stores across Manatee and Sarasota counties plus a distribution center in Palmetto.
The largest location will be in a shopping center under development by commercial real estate investment firm Sentinel Fund, based in Orlando, Florida. Sentinel Fund bought the 35-acre site for $11 million in June, according to Sarasota County property records.
Over the last decade, Sentinel Fund has acquired and sold more than $200 million of commercial real estate over the past 10 years, according to the news outlet.
