Furniture retailer goes 3D with room planner tool

Badcock Home Furniture & More has launched a Room Planner tool that lets customers re-imagine the possibilities of living spaces and provides full room customization and 3D renderings.
It's the latest in a series of customer experience-related efforts by the retailer that included launching an e-commerce platform and online credit approval process, according to a press release.
Shoppers can input room measurements into the tool and customize everything from ceiling height to window placement to floor type and wall color. They can then add desired furniture to see a visual of how the room will look.
"With shoppers beginning their home furnishings purchase journeys online, it's critical that we provide them the ability to not only shop our selection, colors and styles, but to visually create a plan for how our products can fit into their homes," Badcock President and CEO Rob Burnette said in the release. "Our store associates are also equipped to utilize this decorating planning tool to help our in-store customers make sure that the furniture they choose will fit their rooms just right."
