G&D launches cell phone sticker that enables contactless payments

Giesecke & Devrient today announced the availability of its Convego Air Mobile sticker, which enables users to add full debit and/or credit card functionality to any cell phone, PDA or other device.

The sticker measures 1.7 x 1.3 inches, and can easily be affixed to any cell phone or mobile device. According to a press release, the sticker's surface provides enough space for custom designs and laser engraving.

G&D says the sticker is certified for MasterCard PayPass and works with all PayPass-compliant payment terminals. The product is currently being tested in "several pilot projects" in Europe and North America, according to the release.
