Hilton testing ‘smart room’ to enhance customer experience

One day soon consumers staying at Hilton won't have to adjust thermostats once in the room, find their favorite television program or call to order the beer they like.

That's because the hotel chain is striving to make all that happen via "smart rooms" that will be programmed to meet the needs of the guest as soon as they check in, according to a Market Watch report at the New York Post.

The technology should be in play within the next year.
