Mass Connections, a California-based marketing company, announced in a press release the launch of its "Consumer Alert" program, a framework that allows retailers and CPG companies to target shoppers at various locations in and out of the shopping experience.
Consumers can opt in to a retailer's or a brand's promotion online in order to receive offers that are targeted via zip code. Those offers are delivered via text message and are time sensitive:

"We were near the store so we figured we'd hop in and see because she said she signed up for it. So I'd like to sign up for it now too to see what free products I can get." | ![]() |
The program has been in a limited pilot since April, but Mass Connections said the service is now "live" and ready for implementation in all 50 states.
