Moneris, Lightspeed partner on mobile payment platform for retailers

Canadian payment processor Moneris Solutions Corporation and retail software provider LightSpeed announced a new partnership to create an integraed mobile payment management solution for Canadian merchants. The partners plan to make their solution available this spring.

The new integrated solution will include Moneris delivering a secure payment processing system integrated with LightSpeed's point of sale and retail management tools, the companies said. The enhanced offering will give LightSpeed's Canadian customer base the ability to use its Mac and iOS-based point of sale products while integrating the payment solution with their back-office processes.

"Our partnership with Moneris represents an important milestone in Canadian retail, which has been newly empowered by mobile, iPad and Mac solutions that engage customers in an interactive and re-energized shopping environment," said Dax Dasilva, CEO of LightSpeed, in a press release.

"This is a great opportunity for our expanding Canadian client base to combine our powerful retail management platform with Moneris' card processing solutions, creating an ecommerce enhanced in-store environment that engages today's connected consumer," Dasilva said.
