NY public advocate calls for Hudson Yards boycott over payment options

New York's Public Advocate Jumaane Williams is calling on shoppers and consumers to boycott the city's newly opened Hudson Yards retail development tenants that don't accept cash.

Hudson Yards is home to dozens of top name and high-end retail shops and eateries. Williams claims cashless eateries reflect the fact the high-end development wasn’t built for the city’s majority, according to an AM NY report.

"People should stop eating at places that are cashless," Williams said during a press event, according to AM NY.
