LAS VEGAS — Displays for the brands Dr. Scholl's, Yellow Tail, the movie "Space Chimps" and retailer Best Buy received POPAI's coveted Display of The Year (D-O-Y) Awards during POPAI's Outstanding Marketing at Retail Achievement (OMA) Awards competition, staged in conjunction with GlobalShop, the largest store design and at-retail marketing show in the United States. Winners were announced during a gala awards ceremony at The Venetian, Las Vegas.
The Dr Scholl's Custom Orthotics Walmart Kiosk, created by Mechtronics Corporation, White Plains, N.Y. for Schering-Plough Corporation captured the Permanent D-O-Y; the Yellowtail Lava Lamp created by CM Global, Watertown, Wis., for Ryan Partnership captured the semi-Permanent award; Space Chimps from Drissi Creative Studios, Hollywood, Calif. for 20th Century Fox captured the temporary award and The Best Buy-Mall of America Living Standee created by Modernistic Incorporated, Stillwater, Minn., for Best Buy captured the award for Digital Signage.
"This year more than 500 entries were judged by over 100 brand marketers, retailers, agencies and marketing at retail producers to determine the campaigns and programs delivering dramatic results and shaping marketing in-store over the past year. These executions are changing the face of retail and how brands effectively communicate with consumers at retail," said Dick Blatt, president and chief executive of POPAI.
