Shoplifting reportedly broke up Target, Ulta Beauty partnership

Shoplifting is being cited as the reason for the breakup of Target and Ulta Beauty with one report claiming shoplifters stole $10,000 in products at one store alone.

The two retailers announced in mid August that their shop-in-store collaboration will end come August of 2026.

The shoplifting cost came from Reddit posters claiming to be Target workers both currently and in the past, according to a New York Post report.

"The amount of theft is f–king insane. I could be wrong but at least 10k a month in theft," a Reddit user posted in the spring.

Target and Ulta Beauty announced the partnership in 2021.
