Asian communications giant SingTel and digital self-service specialist Yeahpoint have announced the opening of the new flagship SingTel retail store at Comcentre in Singapore.
Together, the companies have created a highly interactive retail environment with digital touchscreens embedded in tabletops, walls, pylons and even exterior windows.
The store's centerpiece is a 105-foot circular dual-sided digital display that creates a 360-degree panorama. The display employs 20 synchronized projectors powered by Yeahpoint's yeahWARE CORE9 software platform.
Elsewhere, a 15-screen video wall presents IP TV and promotions, while six 42-inch digital interactive tables allow customers to listen to music, play games, watch mio TV programs (SingTel's Pay-TV service) and try out "live" handsets and accessories.
Another highlight is the store's "Teach Centre," a simulated conference room that employs five motorized screens to create a 360-degree meeting environment. The arrangement ensures that every face at a conference table can be seen and participants can view presentations from any angle.
SingTel head of sales Diana Chen said that the flagship store sets a new benchmark for retail interactivity. "We have worked incredibly hard to create something special that will enable us to meet the ever-changing communications and infotainment needs of our customers," she said. "We believe that we have set an example for others in the retail industry to follow."
