Sporting goods retailer Scheels is deploying Oracle Retail Xstore and Oracle Retail Xstore Office Cloud Service to its 28 stores in a quest to give associates greater ability to engage and interact with customers.
The technology deployment was implemented by BTM Global, according to a press release.
Scheels' stores offer a wide variety of entertainment activities, from ferris wheels to cafés, and providing greater associate-customer interaction will boost the customer experience.
"As a long standing customer of Oracle and BTM Global, we were happy to work on such a unique cloud project," Byron Snider, information services leader, Scheels, said in the release. "The Scheels' leadership team believes that modern technology is critical to enhancing the experience for our associates, customers, and business partners. BTM pushed us to think critically about the solutions, driving the implementation, and providing strategic guidance on what's best for our business needs as we move towards a checkout model that captures demand at the point of interest."
The technology means store associates are no longer tied to a central register and can move across departments to help customers learn about relevant offers and merchandise.
