The race to be the best at food delivery is getting more competitive than ever.

Target and Cub Foods are piloting a new food delivery service in Minnesota.
The retailers are tapping Instacart for testing potential food delivery in the Twin Cities, according to a Star Tribune report.
The effort is just the latest food delivery service in play as businesses from Uber to Google are exploring ways to make same-day or two-day food delivery a viable business enterprise.
Using Instacart’s online ordering system or its mobile app users place a food order and the cost is then based on the amount of items and how quickly the consumer wants delivery. The first order is free.
The Minnesota pilot is running with 150 staffers, more than half that are part-time, handling deliveries throughout a good portion of Minneapolis.
"It’s always been on our list," Nilam Ganenthiran, Instacart VP of business development and strategy, told the Tribune. "We knew we’d get to it in 2015."
