Walgreens Boots Alliance, Microsoft team up to drive delivery, retail innovations

Walgreens Boots Alliance and Microsoft have signed a seven-year commitment to develop new technology, retail innovations as well as healthcare delivery models built on Microsoft's Azure, cloud and AI platforms.

Through the strategic partnership, the companies aim to deliver innovative platforms that enable integrated digital-physical experiences, according to a press release.

The companies will also explore the potential to establish joint innovation centers in key markets. The Alliance will pilot up to 12 store-in-store "digital health corners" aimed at the merchandising and sale of select health care-related hardware and devices, stated the release.
